Accra (4 nights)
Arrive in Accra and orient yourself to the energy that is this dynamic city! You'll get a crash course in bargaining (African print anyone?) at Makola's open air market before we visit the Kwame Nkrumah & WEB Du Bois museums and Independence Square. Whilst in Accra and its environs we'll two hike opportunities - Shai Hills & Oboadaka Waterfalls. Each evening, there will be the optional night out activities - think jazz lounges, rooftop bars and more!
Kumasi (2 nights)
We'll enjoy Kumasi (heart of the Ashanti Kingdom) with tours of Manhyia Palace (home of the Ashanti King) and traditional villages to see the famed Kente cloth weavers and woods carvers in action. You'll learn about Yaa Asantewaa - woman warrior - who stood up against the British colonialists when the Asante King was captured.
